SDL stage noisy protest in Edinburgh
Activists from the far right organisation, the Scottish Defence League, protested today in the heart of the Scottish capital.
Approximately 30 SDL members staged a noisy demonstration outside Bute House, the official residence of Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
The group arranged the event following the death of former soldier Darren Greenfield, who was homeless and sleeping rough in Edinburgh when he died aged 47.
Ostensibly the SDL were calling for better housing for veterans, but the central theme of the protest seemed to be anger about the number of refugees entering Scotland.

A counter demonstration of approximately 100 people came out to protest against the SDL. Both sides were separated at either end of the square by metal fencing and masses of Police.
