In pictures: anti-Brexit march in Edinburgh

An estimated 2000 people marched in Edinburgh today against plans for the UK to leave the European Union (EU).

The demonstration was organised by The Young European Movement, an organisation which exists to fight for a better European Union with the UK at its heart.

A tourist watches on as demonstrators wait at the march starting point, the Radison Blu hotel on Ediburgh’s Royal Mile.

Catherine Stihler MEP, Patrick Harvey MSP and Dr Mike Galsworthy from Scientists Against Brexit addressed the crowds.

Storm Emma in pictures: 24 hours in Edinburgh

Storm Emma hit Edinburgh on the evening of 27 February 2018. When the city woke, it was covered in a thick blanket of snow.

Whilst children played and their parents struggled to get to work, emergency services were stretched and many shops were unable to receive deliveries.

Eventually the snow subsided, but the chaos continued over the next few days.
